2017 Mazda RX-9 – Started for the 2006 model year, the Mazda CX-9 has soldiered on relatively unchanged until now. The facelifts that Mazda rolled out in 2010 and 2013 brought only modest changes that included new front grilles, updated headlamps, and restyled bumpers. In 2008, Mazda Mazda dumped the 3.5-liter V6 in favor of a 3.7-liter unit, but the bigger engine, the only survivor of the brand’s partnership with Ford, has remained unchanged to this day. All told, the present CX-9 is long in the tooth and is long overdue for an overhaul. Fortunately, the much-needed redesign has arrived at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and will hit dealerships for the 2017 model year.
2017 Mazda RX-9 Review
Previewed by the Mazda Korea theory, the second-generation CX 9 received the company’s Kodo design language and a high-quality interior with superior stuff. The engine under the SUV s long hood can also be new. Hp is down compared to the previous version, but the new SkyActiv unit pumps significantly more torque to the wheels and returns better fuel economy.

The sporty theme continues around back, where the crossover sports a pair of lean taillights constructed around Miata-like round light units. A chrome stripe runs between both benches, similar to on the Korea notion. However, the lower section of the tailgate and the rear fender are more similar to the CX 5 than the Korea, with only minor details setting them apart.

When viewed from the side, the CX9 is a well proportioned, athletic SUV. The long hood, crossed greenhouse, large wheels, and short overhangs imply equilibrium and sportiness, a feat not many full-size vehicles can brag about. Although it’s 1.2 inches shorter than its predecessor, the CX 9 has a 2.2-inch longer wheelbase. The front overhang is 2.3 inches shorter, while the A-pillars are shifted back 3.9 inches.
The SUV can be had with either 18- or 20-inch wheels and in seven exterior colors. Colors include the already iconic Soul Crimson, Snowflake White Pearl, Sonic Silver, Jet Black, Strong Crystal Blue, Titanium Flash, and Machine Gray. The latter is a new color Mazda says was designed to make the CX-9 look “as though it was carved from just one ingot of steel.” Be that as it may, I still prefer Soul Crimson.

As in the CX 9s brethren, the instrument panel is dominated by round analog dials. But unlike in virtually every other Mazda, one of the round gauges is actually a color LCD screen that can display trip computer advice and a compass. On all but the lowest Sports trim level, which gets a seven-inch screen, there’s an eight-inch touchscreen in the center of the dash. It’s a bit too far to touch while driving, so the display can also be controlled by the BMW iDrivelike knob behind the shifter. Navigation and audio controls are reasonable and easy to use with either the knob or the touchscreen.
2017 Mazda RX-9 Engine
As for the engine of the new 2017 Mazda RX-9, it is going to be a brand new variation of the rotary engine implemented here. The old one that has been used in the RX8 will definitely not be applied here and the most recent announcement suggested that the 1.6-liter 16X engine is being added under the hood. This engine is good enough to reach a power of 450 hp but we still don’t have any information about the transmission selections which are going to be available for eh new RX9, but it is sure that we are going to get something new which we have not seen before on a Mazda.
2017 Mazda RX-9 Price
The 2017 Mazda RX-9 will hopefully be recognized and released by the spring of 2017. The anticipated cost range would be close to $30,000 for base models and will grow higher for customized trimmings. This sports car has amazing possibilities and will stand neck to neck with its opponents.
